Our Team
For the next nine months the following young San men and women will enjoy both formal courses and on-the-job training.

Education Support Programme
In order to provide a combination of traditional and formal education for the San children, youth and adults living and working at !Khwa ttu the Education Support Programme has recently been established.

Environment & Buildings
The land that we now know as ‘!Khwa ttu’ was purchased in 1999. It was then registered? by the name of Grootwater, a wheat and sheep producing farm owning a number of rather dilapidated farm buildings.

Organisational Structure
!Khwa ttu is now the only San-owned and culture and education centre in the Western Cape of South Africa. It is a joint-venture owned by the San people in partnership with the Swiss UBUNTU Foundation. !Khwa ttu as a legal entity is a 50/50 joint venture between the San, as represented by WIMSA , and UBUNTU Foundation.

Mission and Background
Khwa ttu - A Celebration of San Culture, Past and Present, with a mandate to:
- Restore and display San heritage, culture, folklore, visual arts, cosmology and languages
- Educate the general public about the world of the San
- Provide training to the San in literacy, entrepreneurship, tourism, health issues, community development, craft production/marketing and gender awareness.

How to get to !Khwa ttu
- We are situated in the West Coast on road R27, a mere hour's drive from Cape Town.
- You will see us on your right hand, just before the turn-off to Yzerfontein.
- Pass our gate and you will enter the world of the San!
